Kids these days are capable of almost everything at the level of an adult. They're able and so intelligent that it is now very hard to find true child prodigies. That is very true with devices and technology. A decade before, kids between 6 to 12 years of age did not have mobile phones. They didn't have tablet computers or even home computers for that matter. Kids back in the days had marbles, chocolate, gum and action figures in their pockets. Today, kids have product pcs, mp3 players, convenient gambling consoles, and mobile devices on their pockets. Back in the day, kids were outside playing with their friends on the street or on the front garden or on the playgrounds. Today, kids play with their mates around the world through online activities, express themselves through the internet, and talk with their friends via video contact. Everything is done in front of a computer or a lightweight high-end unit.
It no longer a source of wonder to see kids carrying their own iPads or iPhones or Blackberry devices everywhere they go. Most parents now provide mobile phones for kids so they can stay connected with their children and learn their whereabouts at all times. In because they feared that their children may misuse and abuse the privilege of owning a cellular phone past generations, parents were unwilling to give their kids mobile phones. However, child welfare and safety seems to be more significant and parents and have given in to the advantages offered by the technology.
Giving a child a mobile phone has its advantages. The parents are given opportunity to periodically check on the whereabouts of their children. They can sleep secure knowing that if they have any issues regarding their child, their baby is just one telephone call away. For example, in a situation where a baby gets lost in the mall, the element of worry is almost completely eliminated. In olden days, parents who unintentionally lose their children in big malls could break up in anxiety, not knowing where they left the baby or if the kid is okay. Now, all they require to do is to call and face their kid's number and they may meet somewhere and instantly learn his location. A potential disaster is avoided. When the baby wants something quickly, like a ride home another case is. One phone and a potentially tense situation for both parents and the child is avoided.
Giving kids mobile phones with the intention of staying attached does have a few negatives but the benefits far outweigh the negatives. After all, the protection of children and the chance to be able to talk to them regularly is of paramount importance. What the parents must to do is so that they don't abuse and misuse the privilege given to them instill a feeling of responsibility and readiness in their children.
