Indoor gardening is a little different than outdoor gardening, so I'm going to let you in on a few indoor gardening secrets. Outdoor gardens are easier because they have the benefit of getting the sun no matter what time of day it is and as long as it's raining, they are being fed. With an indoor garden, there is much more care to be taken. There's a lot more to think about. Here's a few secrets I've learned over the years to help you out.
? Soil - Having the proper soil is paramount to getting yourself a good indoor garden. Most great indoor garden soils are rich in humus and nutrients. As opposed to outdoor gardens, your indoor plants are relying on you to give them absolutely everything that they need to survive and thrive. Preparing your soil with something called Soil Syrup is an excellent way yo increase the humus value in your soil.
? AquaRocks - These rocks are water absorbing crystals that will help with the watering in case you miss a watering cycle. The plants can absorb water from the rocks and get the liquid they need.
? Organic Matter - Generously adding organic matter to your plants is going to help enormously. Soil Syrup will also add the much need organic matter that your plants require.
? Aqua Rocks & Spikes - As an indoor plant, the time you spend watering can taking up a lot of time. This time can be lessened if you take advantage of Aqua Rocks & Spikes. These items will absorb the water and distribute it so you don't have to spend as much time watering your plants, especially as they grow larger and require more and more water.
? Dampness Check - If you stick your finger in your plant and notice that the soil is rather dry, you can add more Aqua Rocks & Spikes so that the water retention will last much longer. Just poke a few deep holes into the soil and place the Aqua rocks into the holes. Do this sparingly, because Aqua rocks will expand to 400 times their size when they absorb water. Using Aqua Rock & Spikes will ensure that the water is getting right down to the roots where it is needed most.
? Sunlight - Research just how much sunlight your particular plant is going to require each day. Vegetable plants require 5 hours of direct sunlight per day, others require less. Determine how much sunlight is required and put your plant in a place in your house that will allow it to receive the proper amount of sunlight.
Plants are just as unique as humans. They all have different needs, need different foods to survive and require different amounts of sunlight. With a little practice and trial and error you'll be a green thumb in no time. These simple few tips will allow you to provide yourself a flourishing indoor garden that will make your house a natural greenhouse. If you can keep a plant for a year, get a pet, if you can keep a pet for a year you may get married. Good luck!
